Neymar has told Paris Saint Germain he wants to leave the club, according to reports from Brazil this Monday.

Following the French side’s statement saying the player hasn’t joined the squad on the due date, website UOL brings a story with interesting claims about the star.

According to UOL, Neymar spoke to PSG director Leonardo by phone last week, and told him he doesn’t want to play for the club anymore.

Leonardo explained to Neymar the project the club have for him. The player praised the intentions, but claimed that he really wants to go.

UOL’s headline also states that Neymar has warned PSG he’s not doing preseason with the squad. But the text doesn’t make it clear if this was also said in the conversation with Leonardo.

It’s claimed that Neymar’s wish to leave isn’t something new. UOL says that at a club event at the end of the last season, the player had already told Marquinhos, Thiago Silva and Daniel Alves that he didn’t want to come back to Paris. He said the same to president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

The report adds that PSG are normally tough when negotiating for players who want to leave the club, so his request doesn’t make his departure any easier.

UOL’s report has nothing about the club who Neymar would join. Not long ago, Brazilian journalist Marcelo Bechler, the same who reported his transfer to PSG, said his return to Barcelona was almost done.
