Crystal Palace are again interested in Santos defender Lucas Veríssimo, according to the Brazilian press.

The Premier League side had already been linked to the 23 year old in the past, and as reported by a couple of sources, they would be looking to sign him this summer.

It was first Futebol Interior who highlighted Palace’s interest in the player, saying on Monday they would have to compete with Torino and Lyon for the signing.

The website claimed that Santos would only sell Veríssimo for his release clause, which stands at €8m.

On Twitter, Roberto Suehiro, who’s famous among Santos fans for having sources at the club, also confirms Crystal Palace’s interest. However, he says no official offers have been made so far.

He claims that besides Torino and Lyon, the defender is also wanted by Spartak Moscow, Nantes, Stuttgart, Saint Etienne and Roma.

It’s not said, however, if Lucas Veríssimo has an EU passport, which may be necessary for the transfer.
