Bruno Guimarães continues to impress in Brazil. The 21-year-old midfielder, who’s been showing his potential for a while now, last night scored the winner in Athletico’s 1-0 victory over Internacional for the Copa do Brasil final first leg.

The player has been linked to Chelsea for the past year, and it seems the Blues continue to be interested in bringing him to London.

That’s because according to Globo Esporte, the Stamford Bridge side had a scout at Arena da Baixada watching Bruno Guimarães. The website says it’s the fifth time they’ve done so this season.

“Regarding the interest of the teams, I see that it’s normal when the person has been playing well. This I leave in the hands of my agents. I’m happy at Athletico and focused on the final,” he said after the match.

Bruno Guimarães is currently protected by a €40m release clause, but it may not be that simple for Chelsea to take him from Athletico. When the Brazilian side sold Renan Lodi to Atletico Madrid this summer, they agreed a preference with the La Liga club.

The very same Globo Esporte reported the Colchoneros can sign him for €30m, and must be told in case any other club bid for him so they can match the offer.
