Chelsea have reopened talks for the renewal of Willian, according to claims from Brazil today.
Goal reporter Bruno Andrade says the Blues are now making a ‘last and decisive’ attempt to extend the winger’s contract with the club.
Chelsea are set to do ‘nearly’ everything to give Willian a new deal, and there are two reasons for that.
Firstly, Frank Lampard has asked the club to keep him. And secondly, there’s worry over the chance he could leave the Blues to join one of their London rivals.
The report claims that Willian wants to continue in the Premier League, where Arsenal and Tottenham both want him. He’s recently been approached by a Chinese club, but that’s been ruled out, especially because he wants to continue featuring for the national team.
Goal writes that the player continues demanding a three-year contract, and in the first rounds of negotiations, Chelsea had offered two years. So for a deal to be reached, someone must give in.
