Brazilian outlet UOL reports today some difficulties that Willian has been having renewing his contract with Chelsea.

The website claims the Blues are currently offering the player, whose deal expires in 2020, a one-year extension. The winger, however, would like a three-year contract.

Chelsea’s policy is to only give one-year deals to players who are over 30, which is Willian’s age, and that’s why his staff believes that an agreement is still far from being reached.

UOL says that Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain interest in Willian has given his staff some confidence to get a great deal at the end of his current contract.

The website adds that PSG’s late offer for the player was rejected by Chelsea as the Blues didn’t like the amount offered by the French side.

PSG’s idea was to sign Willian to replace Neymar, who’s missing a few months due to injury.
