Despite Marcus Rashford’s great goalscoring form for Manchester United this season, it’s hard not to see Casemiro as the symbol of this new era at Old Trafford.

Since joining the Red Devils in a €70m move from Real Madrid in the summer, the midfielder had a huge impact in Erik ten Hag’s side, with his midfield domination proving crucial for the team.

Even though Casemiro had a fantastic time at Real Madrid, it’s fair to say he made a surprising adaptation to Manchester United, as he clearly feels comfortable on and off the pitch.

Following his first title at the club, the Brazilian media has been speaking about it, and journalist Paulo Vinícius Coelho had a few things to say on UOL.

PVC is the kind of pundit who doesn’t make his comments without making a few calls, so he brings his own information about why Casemiro feels at home at Manchester United.

“He highly praises the relationship with Erik ten Hag,” Paulo Vinícius Coelho said on UOL.

“But the central point for Casemiro, he understands that the relationship with the fans has been the great catalyst for his success. He understands, even though we know, that in Spain you have, in theory, a more inflamed fanbase than in England, there are a lot of complaints about how the English crowd is very serious, very quiet in home games, especially. He understands that the relationship with fans, with him lifting the fans, the fans responding to him, the intimacy with the fans, is something he understands as very decisive for this.

“And he understands that England has two different points compared to Spain. One: the competitiveness of the league, even if it’s not easy to win the league in Spain, he says that it is much more difficult to play in England. And the relationship with the fans who are more inflamed than he saw at the Santiago Bernabeu. So he understands that this intimacy with the fans was what gave him a lot of conditions to feel at home so quickly.”

Despite a recent three-game suspension, Casemiro so far has 33 appearances for Manchester United, with five goals scored and five assists made.
