Earlier today, we covered the front page story from Sport which said there’s interest in signing Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.
The Catalan outlet said sides are getting attentive to the player’s struggles at Barça, and the list of pretenders would include the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.
Sport’s story may be plausible, but Brazilian journalist Marcelo Bechler, from Esporte Interativo, says Coutinho is not planning to leave his club anytime soon.
The reporter says that according to sources close to the player, Coutinho still wants to succeed at Barcelona and the idea is to keep fighting at the club.
It’s claimed that Coutinho moved to Spain trying to ‘improve his curriculum’, as he only had one title in his career. Now the player is ‘aware that football is made of ups and downs’ and that’s what motivates him to stay.
