Bournemouth have seen Júlio Soler emerge as a potential outgoing option after reports from Brazil outlined Cruzeiro’s plans for the left-back position.
According to Brazilian journalist Dan Abreu, with additional reporting from João Paulo, Cruzeiro have sounded out the 20-year-old defender, who is under contract at Bournemouth.
The move links directly to the club’s recent sale of wonderkid Kauã Prates. The 17-year-old left-back joined Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth €12m. That transfer gave Cruzeiro both financial room and an open spot on the left side of defence.
As a result, the Brazilian club have stepped up their search for a replacement. Soler has emerged as one of the names discussed internally. Cruzeiro like the profile, but they are proceeding carefully. The defender suffered a serious knee injury recently, which remains a key factor in the assessment.
Cruzeiro are not working on an immediate move. Any potential arrival would only take place midway through the Brazilian season – on the English summer window. The club want more clarity on Soler’s physical condition before advancing further.
Before shifting focus to Bournemouth’s player, Cruzeiro had also sought more information on Cuiabano, who is currently at Nottingham Forest. That option now appears to have cooled, with the club widening its shortlist.
At this stage, Bournemouth have not received a formal offer. The Premier League side are aware of the interest, but the next steps remain open, shaped by timing, fitness and Cruzeiro’s evolving plans.
