Brazilian right-back Arthur has been a ‘recent target’ for AFC Bournemouth, the local media reports.
A story from outlet UOL today writes that the teenager, who’s been standing out in the U20 South American Championship with the national team, has been drawing the interest from European sides.
It’s first claimed that there’s a German club who are strongly interested in his signing, and are holding talks to sign him from América-MG.
Then it’s said that Bournemouth have recently been after the player as well.
It turns out that Arthur is protected by a low release clause, set at €9m, so his club are doing their best to hold onto him, also fighting for a percentage of a future transfer.
The fullback is currently 19 years old, and started being used by América-MG’s first team last year.
In the U-20 South American Championship this year, he played all games so far.
Brazil have six wins in seven matches, with an impressive campaign where many players are drawing the interest from European clubs, and that means Bournemouth should watch out, as the competition for this signing should only grow in the coming months.
