Bournemouth are close to securing their first signing of the summer transfer window, with Roma’s Justin Kluivert set to join the club.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who say Roma are ‘in the throes’ of a transfer operation as they look to raise €30m from outgoing sales.
They need to do so by the end of the month to balance the books and, according to TMW’s information, Kluivert will be departing to help in that regard.
They report that negotiations for a permanent move to Bournemouth are ‘at an advanced stage’ and the two clubs’ aim is to work out the operation ‘in a few days’ time.
Kluivert has returned to the club from a loan spell at Valencia and is ‘ready to start again’ in the Premier League, specifically on the South Coast.
There is no mention of a transfer fee at this point but Kluivert is in the final year of his deal with Roma so it is unlikely that their asking price will be a high one given their need to sell on two fronts.
We’re sure those details will come out in the coming days or weeks, with this deal apparently already fairly advanced and Bournemouth close to their first summer deal.
Attention will need to be paid to whether Kluivert can get a work permit, after a 2022 move to Fulham was said to have collapsed due to that issue.
