Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi has revealed he is now starting to enjoy playing in the Premier League, more than a year after arriving at the club.
The defender has been speaking to YouTube channel Ezzequiel regarding life in England, Argentina and various other aspects of his career.
Naturally much of the conversation was on Bournemouth and life in the Premier League, where he has been playing since August last year.
He joined the Cherries in a €15m move from Feyenoord in August last year and hasn’t looked back since, making 34 appearances in all competitions last season and 16 so far this season.
Life in England’s top flight has not been an easy one so far, with Bournemouth stuck in a relegation battle for much of last season before a late rally carried them to safety while this season had started off difficult for new manager Andoni Iraola but has been turned around in recent weeks.
And that almost encapsulates the experience for Senesi too, who admitted that he has only just recently started to enjoy playing in the best league in the world.
“It’s a dream,” he said.
“It’s something that if you start playing football you look at where you want to play, and the Premier League is one of the leagues where I would have liked to play and now like playing.
“To have made it here is incredible. I think there was a game playing against Newcastle (when he really felt it). It’s not that we were winning 3-0, even at 0-0 I was having a great game and I said, ‘I like the Premier League’. I’m starting to like playing here even more.
“That’s what any game is going to be, it’s nice to see. It’s going to be competitive, anything can happen, anyone can win. It’s not over until the referee says it’s over.
“Anything can happen at any time. It makes you pay the most, that’s the beautiful thing about football.”
