As Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb today shares as story on the future of Napoli fullback Alessandro Zanoli, AFC Bournemouth are named as one of the contenders for his signing.
The website starts by claiming that the 23-year-old is set to be once again loaned out by the Serie A side, as they want him to gain experience elsewhere and he’s ready for a ‘new adventure’ on a temporary basis.
Speaking of the clubs who have interest in him, Bournemouth get a mention. The Cherries, along with Benfica, are said to be the club who tried the signing back in the summer, and are now expected to ‘try again’.
That’s interesting because TuttoMercatoWeb says that former Napoli manager Rudi Garcia blocked Zanoli’s departure at the start of the season, so the interested sides should find a completely different situation now.
Bournemouth’s and Benfica’s attempts are expected to take place in a ‘few weeks’, with Genoa also claimed to be on the player’s trail.
Zanoli only has 142 minutes played this season, so it makes sense that he wants more minutes elsewhere. He’s currently valued by Transfermarkt at €6m.
