Despite bringing Neto in over the summer and making him captain, AFC Bournemouth have an eye on another goalkeeper for the future.
Their backups are currently 23-year-old Mark Travers and 35-year-old Darren Randolph, but it seems the Cherries have once again turned their attention to Italy for transfer purposes.
Bournemouth signed Matias Viña and Hamed Traoré from Serie A over the course of the January transfer window and also tried to bring in Nicolo Zaniolo, clearly marking Italy as a prime area to bolster their squad.
Well, the next on their list appears to be Hellas Verona goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipò, who is currently having a great time.
The 27-year-old, according to Calciomercato, has kept three clean sheets and conceded just four goals in the last seven league games, and helped his team climb up the table.
However, that hasn’t gone unnoticed, because while his present might be in Verona, his future could be elsewhere, with both Galatasaray and more recently Bournemouth lurking around.
It’s said the Cherries have ‘sent their emissaries (read scouts) in recent weeks’ to ‘specifically’ watch Montipò in goal, suggesting they have transfer ideas for him down the line.
