Roma have received a €30m ‘official offer’ from Bournemouth for midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo worth €30m plus bonuses and a future ‘resale percentage’.
That’s according to journalist Gianluca di Marzio, who says that figure would be enough and ‘satisfies the requests’ of the Giallorossi club.
Zaniolo has been linked with a move away from Roma over the last few weeks, with the likes of Tottenham and AC Milan believed to be keen on his signature.
A report in Gazzetta dello Sport today made it clear that there were in fact several suitors for him in the Premier League but did not name the clubs involved in the bidding.
Di Marzio throws Bournemouth into the mix, though, reporting that they have made a €30m bid plus bonuses and a percentage on any resale.
The Cherries are keen to strengthen their squad this month as they look to give manager Gary O’Neill more options for the battle against relegation. They have been willing to splash the cash this month after new investment arrived last year and it seems they have set their sights on Zaniolo.
Di Marzio reports that their bid is enough for Roma to sanction a sale and if Milan, another of the player’s suitors, do not match it then they are ‘ready to close’ the deal with Bournemouth.
The decision will then be up to the player, who will have to decide if he fancies a move to the South Coast or wants to wait and see if any of his other suitors will match Bournemouth’s bid.
