Bournemouth have seen a first offer for Flamengo right-back Wesley rejected by the Brazilian club.

That’s according to GE Globo, who report that Bournemouth submitted a €12m offer for the defender but saw that rejected outright.

According to their information, Flamengo were not keen on the first proposal presented by Bournemouth but negotiations between the various parties continue.

Director of football Bruno Spindel is in charge of negotiations with Andoni Iraola’s side and those talks are expected to extend into next seek.

The clubs believe that a deal will go through at some point, although at this point it seems Bournemouth need to convince Flamengo into a sale.

What figure Flamengo want for the 20-year-old, who has had interest in the Premier League before now and was the subject of a loan bid from Barcelona last year, isn’t made clear at this point.

Bournemouth are keen to bring him to England, though, and add him to a squad that currently has Max Aarons and Adam Smith as their right-back options.

GE Globo insist that there is a confidence from all involved that a deal can be done so expect more negotiations in the coming days and perhaps a new, improved bid.
