According to a claim in the Argentine media, Bournemouth have agreed a deal to sign Lanus defender Julio Soler.

The 19-year-old has been linked with both Liverpool and Manchester United in the past month following reports the two Premier League club have been monitoring the situation with the youngster

However, it seems Bournemouth have won the race to sign the Argentina U23 international and it’s been reported by Uriel Iugt via social media that the English side have agreed a transfer fee of £12m with Lanus.

The Argentine journalist says Soler will now travel to England in the coming hours before his move to Bournemouth is made official.

In November we covered reports from Argentina which stated Manchester United and Liverpool were making advances for Soler, along with River Plate. It was claimed Liverpool had contacted Lanus about the left back.

Soler started 18 league games for Lanus last season and is contracted to the club until December 2026.

He made his debut for the Argentina U23 side last year.
