Portuguese newspaper Record today shares a big story on AFC Bournemouth’s interest in Sporting striker Youssef Chermiti.
The same newspaper had already reported that Wolverhampton Wanderers had scouted the player, and now it’s claimed that the Cherries are looking to move first for the signing.
It’s claimed that ‘everything indicates’ Bournemouth are ‘preparing an offer’ to beat the competition for the 19-year-old.
It’s not yet said how much the Cherries would put on the table for the transfer. Record just makes it clear that Sporting are open to negotiating, as long as some demands are met.
The Lions’ idea is to evaluate offers which are worth over €20m, plus they want to keep 20% of a future move.
Chermiti himself is said to be happy at Sporting, where he’s been evolving, and doesn’t have an early exit from the club in his plans.
That’s why he’s set to sit at the table and calmly evaluate the offers he gets.
So Bournemouth better have good arguments to bring him to England, or he may end up choosing to stay where he is.
