Valencia have made advances in their efforts to sign AFC Bournemouth’s Max Aarons in the winter market.

On Sunday, AS reported the right-back arrived in Spain late on Saturday and was set to undergo medical tests with the La Liga side yesterday.

The Bournemouth player hasn’t yet completed the transfer formalities if a report from Levante-Emv is to be believed.

They state ‘everything is ready’ for the 25-year-old to become the new Valencia player and the move should be sorted out in the next few hours.

Aarons will undergo medical tests on Monday morning and then sign the contract with Los Ches today, after they agreed a loan deal with a €10m buying option with Bournemouth.

Upon his arrival in Valencia on Saturday, the Cherries man said: “I’m very excited, I have already spoken with Carlos Corberán and I am ready to contribute from now on. I hope to play as many games as I can, help the team and achieve many successes with them.”

Corberán, who arrived at Mestalla from West Bromwich Albion recently, is waiting for the Englishman at Valencia.

Monday’s edition of AS claims Valencia will make Aarons’ signing official today. They add the fullback will soon train under Corberán’s orders and will be in contention to make his debut against Ourense in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday.

The temporary move could see Aarons enjoy regular minutes, which he didn’t enjoy under Andoni Iraola at Bournemouth this season.
