Bournemouth’s move for Nicolas Jackson has been ‘put on hold’ but is not completely dead in the water as yet.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who cover the situation today amid claims that the player has failed a medical.

They say the ‘last minute hold up’ in Jackson’s move to Bournemouth has been because he is struggling with a hamstring injury. Due to that the signing has been ‘put on hold’ following a medical.

The striker had been in Bournemouth to sign for the club and the agreement with Villarreal was ‘total’ and set to be completed for a figure close to €23m.

He remains in the United Kingdom and the plan is for Bournemouth to ‘continue to test him’ to work out the extent of his injury.

Bournemouth have not completely ‘ruled out’ the transfer at this moment in time but they are waiting to see how the situation progresses.

This latest development has been a ‘bitter pill to swallow’ for the Cherries, who were more than ready to sign off on a deal as they look to bolster Gary O’Neil’s squad before the end of the window.

They have still not ruled out that happening, but for now he remains a Villarreal player as more tests are done to work out the extent of his injury issue.
