AFC Bournemouth are currently in negotiations to bring Tiago Pinto to the club, according to claims from Italy.
Journalist Marco Conterio writes that there are ‘direct contacts’ at an ‘advanced stage’ for the official to join the Cherries as their new ‘market man’.
Pinto reportedly had ‘contacts and meetings’ with Bournemouth, with whom he’s had a good relationship from the transactions he negotiated on AS Roma’s behalf.
Conterio claims the director is moving ‘towards a new adventure in the Premier League,’ so it does sound like the talks are about to be concluded.
Pinto was Benfica’s Director of Football between 2017 and 2020. In 2021, he became Roma’s sporting director and was one of those responsible for bringing José Mourinho to the club the following summer.
With the Portuguese coach leaving the Giallorossi in January this year, Pinto also ended up quitting less than a month later. It was the 39-year-old who decided it was the right time to go.
Since many people now see the Premier League as the greatest showcase in world football, that will have surely helped Bournemouth in the negotiations to attract him.
