Over the past few weeks, AFC Bournemouth have been working on signing Stade Rennais’ Adrien Truffert.
Last week, we covered claims from France that the Cherries have reached an agreement with the Ligue 1 club. They also stated the left-back will undergo his Bournemouth medical soon.
Foot Mercato now report the 23-year-old has ‘already successfully passed’ medical tests with Bournemouth.
The Premier League club saw their initial offer get rejected by Stade Rennais, but they did not give up and eventually found an agreement for the defender’s transfer. The move will be concluded for €17m, likely including bonuses, and the French club have secured a 10% sell-on clause.
Truffert has just over a year left on his contract at Stade Rennais and will leave them for Andoni Iraola’s side. Foot Mercato add he will sign a five-year contract with his new club.
Taking the fullback’s contract situation into account, the report says Stade Rennais will receive ‘significant sum of money’ from his sale.
‘It’s all done’ for Truffert to join Bournemouth and they should make his signing official in the ‘coming days’.
The France international is expected to replace Milos Kerkez, who is said to be close to Liverpool.
