Bournemouth loanee Luis Sinisterra has become the focus of a new internal plan at Cruzeiro, with the club temporarily pulling him out of regular squad dynamics to undergo a specific, individualised physical programme.

The winger arrived in Brazil as one of the boldest signings of the window, carrying Premier League pedigree and high expectations, but recurring injuries from his time in England have continued to disrupt his momentum.

According to reports in Brazil, Cruzeiro’s medical department and coaching staff agreed behind the scenes that Sinisterra now needs a tailored approach.

The aim is simple: rebuild his physical base, strengthen vulnerable areas and reduce the injury frequency that held him back at Bournemouth and has followed him into his early months in Belo Horizonte.

This dedicated process is designed to be gradual, with controlled increases in workload and sessions built around strength, stability and recovery. Cruzeiro want him fully fit for the decisive stages of the season, including the league run-in and a cup semifinal against Corinthians.

Despite the interruptions, Sinisterra has shown flashes of why the club worked so hard to sign him. He has made eight appearances so far and scored a crucial winner against Bahia, ending a personal goal drought of over a year. Cruzeiro believe that, with a stabilised physical base, those flashes can become consistent performances.

For Bournemouth, the approach is equally relevant: a successful rebuild in Brazil could either return a fitter, more reliable player to the Premier League or help preserve his market value for a future sale.
