AFC Bournemouth have included FC Lorient’s Arsène Kouassi in their transfer target list, according to Africa Foot.

Lorient signed the left-back from lower division French side AC Ajaccio in July, and he has cemented his place. He made 14 appearances this season and even scored one goal and contributed four assists.

Bournemouth would have taken notice of his performances, both defensively and while attacking.

It’s claimed the Premier League side have identified the 21-year-old as a target for next season.

Africa Foot say the Burkina Faso international has become a ‘true revelation’ in the Ligue 1 this season. This has already seen several clubs take notice and the report focuses on Bournemouth.

It’s claimed both the Cherries’ management and staff have ‘already approved the idea’ of bringing the fullback to the Liberty Stadium. In short, they have internally approved to try and sign him.

The report adds Andoni Iraola’s side are expected to intensify discussions after AFCON, which ends on January 16th.

Lorient sold Eli Kroupi and Dango Ouattara to Bournemouth in recent years. The latter had Romain Faivre spent the 2023/24 season on loan with the French club. The good ties with Lorient could help Bournemouth.
