Bournemouth have appeared as suitors for Inter Milan defender Robin Gosens ‘in the last few hours’ as the German prepares to leave the Italian side this summer.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say Bournemouth are one of several suitors to have shown interest in the defender.
They explain that Gosens finds himself increasingly out of the picture for the Champions League finalists and after he had been linked with a move away in the last few markets, it appears this one is the one in which it will happen.
He has plenty of suitors, particularly in the Bundesliga, where Union Berlin are keen to strengthen ahead of a first season in the Champions League.
They’ve already started contacts with the player and the idea is to offer him a four-year deal similar to the one he receives at Inter, which is worth around €3.2m net per season.
They’re yet to make a bid and Inter want around €20-25m for the player, despite him only being worth €17m on their books at this point.
Whether Union or even Wolfsburg, another suitor, could afford that isn’t clear but they need to move quickly as other suitors are ‘appearing in the last few hours’ and Bournemouth are one of them.
They’re keen to strengthen their squad for new manager Andoni Iraola and a left-back is of high priority as Matias Vina has not been retained following a loan from Roma.
Bournemouth, of course, can offer Premier League football, which is always a draw, but it’s unclear at this point if they’d be willing to pay the fee or wages required to beat Union Berlin, who have Champions League football in their pocket.
