Rasmus Kristensen is quickly earning fans and plaudits at new club Eintracht Frankfurt after leaving Leeds United this summer.
That’s according to Kicker, who cover the defender today and how he could end up being a ‘crowd favourite’ before too long.
They say the signing from Leeds could be ‘one of the most important’ of the summer after the 27-year-old made a flying start to life at his new club.
He’s quickly established himself at right-back and proven to be ‘robust, strong in duels, and a leader’. All attributes that are earning him plenty of fans.
That was all on display in the recent 4-1 win over Braunschweig in the German cup, where he was an ‘indispensable’ figure both defensively and offensively for his new team.
He appears to have solved a problem area for the German side, who have long been chasing a right-back and even converted central defender Tuta into one last season to make do in the position.
And it seems everyone is very happy so far, with Kicker covering the Leeds man today and the praise that is now forthcoming.
“Rasmus brings great energy in every training session and also in the games. That’s exactly what we hoped for from him,” manager Dino Toppmöller is quoted as saying about the defender.
“He has the potential to become a crowd favourite. Because he has his heart in the right place, has the right attitude, marches up and down the line and is a tough tackler. We are very happy with him, he can carry on like this.”
