West Ham United need a striker to be signed before the end of the transfer window, and Hugo Ekitike is one of their targets.

That’s not been a secret, as Tim Steidten has been working hard on trying to convince the player that a move to the London Stadium would be best for him, and it appears to be working.

At least, that’s what the latest news from France on Eintracht Frankfurt’s attempts to sign the young forward suggests, with RMC Sport bringing it to the fore.

They state it all comes as part of the efforts from Paris Saint-Germain to sign Randal Kolo Muani, after a bid of €70m + bonuses was made and rejected.

The Ligue 1 side are now trying to find a solution that includes Ekitike, but the player has ‘not found a contractual agreement’ with the Bundesliga side, having even ‘turned down two offers’.

This is a boost for West Ham, with it added that the striker has ‘several interests’ from the Premier League, without the Hammers being named.

Where they are named, however, is over at Sports Zone, who claim that David Moyes’ side were close to agreeing a €35m + €5m deal with the player, but Paris Saint-Germain are ‘pushing him’ towards Frankfurt.

While the project there is of interest to him, he doesn’t appreciate being used as a ‘bargaining chip’, which could be why he is stalling.
