On June 29th, journalist Rudy Galetti reported Liverpool are evaluating whether to make a concrete bid for Nicolò Barella.
The journalist also stated it would be difficult for the Reds to carry out a deal as Inter Milan didn’t intend to sell him.
The Serie A side are closing in on a deal for Udinese’s Lazar Samardžić. His arrival could see Inter no longer see Barella as non-transferable, according to Calciomercato.it. This would come as a boost for the 26-year-old’s suitors, including Liverpool.
It’s said the player has a market in the Premier League, where the Reds ‘in particular’ are keen to sign him. The Merseyside club’s pursuit of the Italy international is mainly driven by Jürgen Klopp, who, as per the report, is a ‘great admirer’ of the San Siro star.
Barella has three years left on his deal and Calciomercato.it state he could ‘pack his bags’ if Simone Inzaghi’s side were to receive an offer worth over €80m.
Liverpool have already added Alexis Mac Allister to their midfield and may shift their focus to Barella after Inter reportedly decide to make him available in the market.
Apart from Klopp’s side, Manchester City are also credited with interest in the Inter player.
