Even though Barcelona have been named as the main contenders to sign Athletico Paranense wonderkid Vitor Roque, we can’t ignore that Arsenal and Chelsea had previously been linked to him.
As soon as the European race for the wonderkid started, the Brazilian media soon named the Gunners and Blues as two of the competitors for the 18-year-old.
It turns out that as Catalan outlet Sport today writes about the player, there is interesting news for Arsenal and Chelsea in their story.
It’s pointed out that Vitor Roque’s father, Juvenal Ferreira, made an Instagram post showing he’s in London today. It’s claimed that despite Barcelona’s interest, the player’s entourage ‘doesn’t want to leave aside’ the offers from the Premier League, and the story names Arsenal and Chelsea as clubs who follow him ‘from close’.
Sport also recall that Juvenal Ferreira has been in Paris speaking to PSG, and says he’s expected be in Barcelona by the weekend. So the 18-year-old should get to see all the offers he has on the table to make a decision.
The Brazilian media has been claiming that Athletico Paranaense want at least €60m to let Vitor Roque go, therefore Arsenal and Chelsea know this wouldn’t be a cheap transfer.
