In a quite unusual set of circumstances, there’s some optimism around Old Trafford at the moment.

After a terrible start to the season, Erik ten Hag’s side have won four in a row in the Premier League and find themselves rising up the table to get closer to where they want to be.

Sunday’s victory over Arsenal was crucial, and Manchester United will want to continue their run in the Europa League this week. Real Sociedad are travelling to England for the first group match, and AS report there’s been an injury ‘alert’ at the club.

The Spanish newspaper explain Robin Le Normand won’t be available for the match, and that’s considered a ‘very important’ loss for La Real. The 25-year-old central defender has played every minute for the Basque side so far this season, so being without him is a blow.

According to the report he’s picked up a ‘bone stress injury’ and can’t be risked for the trip to Manchester. Usually such an injury would require four weeks of rest, but Real Sociedad hope to have him back sooner.

Either way, he won’t be playing against Manchester United this week.
