A couple of days after the rumour started, the Portuguese press now backs up that João Carlos Teixeira could be on his way to Bolton Wanderers.

Newspaper O Jogo has a story about the player saying he already knows he has no place in Porto’s squad this season.

As the Portuguese club looks for a new destination for him, preferably on a permanent departure, the outlet claims that the Championship is the ‘most likely’ league to land him.

Then when speaking of clubs, O Jogo says that Bolton are ‘the most interested side’, even though instead of a permanent transfer the club would like to sign Teixeira on a loan deal with an option to buy.

Teixeira has already spent some years in England, belonging to Liverpool between 2012 and 2016.

The player was signed by Porto when leaving Anfield, but failed to impress for the Dragons, and was loaned to Braga during the 2017/18 season.

O Jogo doesn’t say how much Porto will demand for the midfielder, but considering that his form at the club isn’t exactly the best, that shouldn’t be much.
