Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has met with Paris Saint Germain chief Nasser Al-Khelaïfi to discuss Neymar, but has also met with the player’s agents.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say the opportunity has been taken to ‘discuss all the possibilities’ of a potential transfer this summer.
Reports this week have indicated that PSG are keen to move on from Neymar and there was a meeting between Boehly and Al-Khelaïfi in Paris this week before the French side’s clash with Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The Brazilian’s performance against the Germans only confirmed the current trend and a potential departure from Paris this summer.
FM follow that up and say that there has also been a ‘new form of break-up’ displayed by Neymar after the game when he showed up at a poker tournament and visited a fast food restaurant hours after Kylian Mbappe had been calling for his teammates to ‘eat well and sleep well’.
Those actions are seen as the ‘umpteenth misdemeanour’ by the player and Chelsea owner Boehly has now taken the situation ‘into his own hands.’
According to their information, the American has ‘met directly’ with the player’s entourage in the last few days to discuss a potential move.
He is a ‘big fan of the player’ and wanted to take the opportunity to ‘expose the project’ he is undertaking at Stamford Bridge to him and ‘discuss the contours’ of a possible deal.
His arrival at Chelsea could be done via a transfer or the ‘amicable termination’ of his contract with PSG and all avenues are being explored.
PSG are certainly open to him departing. In fact, it’s claimed that their aim is to simply ‘get rid of a player’ who poses more problems than he solves at this moment in time. They would also be glad to be rid of his wages, which are causing numerous FFP issues.
Whether he can end up at Chelsea remains to be seen but the various parties are ‘working on it’ and ‘thinking about it’ nonetheless.
