It seems Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly will be taking that quite busy train to Saudi Arabia this summer.

As reported by CalcioMercato.it, only the ‘very last details’ are left for the 31-year-old to join Al Hilal.

It’s claimed that the Saudi side managed to ‘burn the competition’ by making very attractive offers both to the player and Chelsea.

The Blues are set to sell the defender for around €20m. That is the same amount of wages he will be on, per season, in the three-year contract that Al Hilal are offering him.

According to the report, the ‘final closing of the deal’ is expected this week. That quick conclusion is due to ‘frequent contacts’ established between the parties in the past few hours.

THe Italian media takes the move as a blow for Inter Milan, who had been interested in bringing the defender back to teh Serie A this summer.

An year ago, Koulibaly left Napoli for Chelsea on a €38m deal. In his only season with the Blues, he made 32 appearances, and struggled to match all the expectations that surrounded him in his arrival to Stamford Bridge.
