Ever since Antonio Conte was sacked from Tottenham, there has been a lot of talk about who could replace him.
Cristian Stellini was placed in charge in the interim, giving Daniel Levy a bit more time to find the right man, with Arne Slot one of the names widely said to be a candidate to take over at Spurs.
However, if Algemeen Dagblad’s Hugo Borst is to be believed, relayed by Voetbal Primeur, the Dutch manager will not be the next Tottenham manager.
That’s because, in his column for the newspaper, the journalist says he ‘thinks he has good news’ for Feyenoord fans, and that’s because Slot ‘seems to have given his word’ to Dennis te Kloese, the club’s general manager, that he will ‘remain as manager next year’.
Whether that’s true or not, no one really knows other than Borst, who doesn’t seem overly convinced himself judging by his choice of words.
However, if it is, that could be a blow for Tottenham, who were clearly interested at one point, with it emphasised in the Netherlands that Slot was on the list of names to replace Conte in London.
