As reported by Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla just a while ago, Nottingham Forest made an attempt to sign Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina.

The reporter claims that the Reds were offering €20m + bonuses, trying to beat Manchester United in the race for the midfielder.

Now the very same Pedulla, relayed by Fiorentina.it, comes up with good and bad news for Nottingham Forest.

The good news is that the offer was accepted by the Serie A side, who know the player doesn’t want to stick around any longer, and that’s why they are working on his late summer exit from the club.

The problem is that Amrabat himself turned down Nottingham Forest’s offer.

It’s claimed that the Morocco international is looking for a move to a ‘big club’, even though he knows there are only two days left until the end of the transfer window.

Reports have been saying that both Galatasaray and Manchester United tried to sign him on loan deals, and both were turned down by Fiorentina. Nottingham Forest were the only club will to pay money to discuss a permanent deal with the Italian side, but were unable to convince the player.
