Back at the start of the month, we all saw things getting very dramatic at Benfica, where following Chelsea’s offer for Enzo Fernandez, the player missed trainings and games as he wanted the move to Stamford Bridge.
With the Blues not reaching a deal with the Eagles, the midfielder ended up accepting the situation and was reintegrated to their squad, where he continues to be an important piece of the puzzle.
Things have now changed, as even though Chelsea are reportedly set to make a new attempt for Fernandez, he’s not set to rebel against Benfica one more time, which is what Record are reporting on Wednesday.
It’s claimed the player has ‘changed his attitude’ regarding this matter and will not ‘force the exit’ from the Eagles this time, leaving the negotiations up to the two clubs.
Record still makes it clear that ‘it will be hard to see’ this deal happening.
That’s because Chelsea are preparing to put €100m plus players on the table, and the Eagles have already been ‘very clear’ that they’re only letting the midfielder go for the €120m of his release clause.
Fernandez knows he’s more likely to stay, and with Benfica promising him €2m in case he does, he’s still expecting to receive that money, despite his attitude earlier this month.
