Blackburn Rovers, West Bromwich Albion and Oxford United are in the mix to sign Gais’ Filip Beckman this summer.
That’s at least what Expressen, relayed by Fotboll Transfers, are reporting, and they say Blackburn Rovers, West Brom and Oxford United are all showing interest in the defender.
The 22-year-old initially joined the Swedish club’s youth system in 2020 and made his way into their senior team in 2023. He played 51 games for Gais so far, of which 15 are from this year.
Beckman’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed in the Championship as the report states where Blackburn Rovers, West Brom and Oxford United have all sent their scouts to follow him closely.
The centre-back, for his part, is considering making a switch to England in this window.
He may not be able to secure a move to the UK because at this moment in time, the Championship trio haven’t made any advances and it’s unclear if they will make an offer in the coming days.
Torbjörn Heggem left the Baggies and completed a permanent move to Bologna. This is pointed out, suggesting West Brom may be looking Beckman as Heggem’s potential successor.
