Blackburn Rovers are working on a deal for Go Ahead Eagles goalkeeper Jeffrey de Lange, with talks between the two clubs ongoing.
That’s according to Voetbal International, relayed by Soccer News, who say the clubs are in negotiations about the goalkeeper.
The newspaper reports that Go Ahead Eagles could be set to lose their fourth key player of this summer already as Blackburn have opened talks about a deal for De Lange.
Talks between the two clubs is ongoing over the goalkeeper, who started his career in Ajax’s youth academy and has been Go Ahead’s first choice since joining in 2022.
His performances last season, which helped the club secure European football, put him on Blackburn’s radar and the Championship side rea ‘convinced of his qualities’.
They’ve set their sights on getting a deal done and have presented the player with a sporting plan that will see him given his chance to establish himself as number one at Ewood Park.
They’re ahead of the likes of Ajax in his list of preferences, with the Dutch giants also making moves to bring him back but leaving him unconvinced as they’d only offer him a substitutes role at best.
Talks between Blackburn and Go Ahead are now well underway, although there is no mention of a possible transfer fee at this point in time.
Rovers are keen, though, so he’s a name to keep an eye on as they continue to build and look to improve on a 19th placed finish last year.
