With Portugal proving to be a great place for player shopping, several English clubs have been seeing what’s going on in the country.
Benfica and Braga clashed for the Portuguese Cup on Wednesday night, and among the sides who sent scouts for this match, there were Blackburn Rovers and Bournemouth, according to O Jogo.
As we covered earlier this week, Blackburn have been watching an impressive amount of games in Portugal lately, and this is the fourth match they’ve been at in five days.
Bournemouth aren’t one of the most frequent visitors, but still, we sometimes see them being mentioned in the lists of clubs who have officials at certain matches.
Benfica won the game 2-1, getting qualification for the quarter-finals. It was Braga who opened the scoring with Ferro’s own goal, but then the Eagles made a comeback with Pizzi and Carlos Vinícius.
The Portuguese press is still to report Blackburn Rovers or Bournemouth interest in any local players, so we wonder who they could be interested in.
A few Braga players such as Bruno Viana, Trincão and Ricardo Horta continue to have good performances for the club, so this is a game where not only Benfica players should be considered.
