Manchester United could be set to miss out on Birmingham City star Jude Bellingham after he chose Borussia Dortmund as his next club.

16-year-old Bellingham is one of the hottest properties in Europe at this moment in time having shone for Birmingham in the Championship this season.

A whole host of European clubs are keen to sign him this summer, including Manchester United, who recently showed him around their Carrington training ground in an attempt to lure him to Old Trafford.

It has been claimed they are obsessed with signing the youngster from Birmingham, although if SportBild are to be believed, their efforts are in vain.

They report that Bellingham has set his heart set on a move to Borussia Dortmund and has made it clear that is where he intends to go next.

The newspaper explains that he ‘rejected’ an approach from Bayern Munich weeks ago and has not changed his opinion since that point.

According to them, Bellingham’s ‘wish is clear’, he wants to play for Dortmund next season, which would presumably mean he intends to turn down any approach from Manchester United also.

That is unlikely to stop those at Old Trafford trying, of course, but it seems they now have work to do to convince Bellingham that Manchester should be his next destination.
