Last week, Claims from Denmark and Sweden reported Birmingham City’s interest in Djurgårdens IF’s August Priske.
Three days ago, the forward didn’t share a major update when asked about Birmingham City’s interest.
Back in October, Djurgårdens IF sporting director Bosse Andersson shared his confidence the 21-year-old would be the club’s new record signing. Their current record is at €20m from Lucas Bergvall’s sale to Tottenham Hotspur in 2024.
On Sunday, Andersson said they’ll have to soon make a decision on the Dane’s future. Later that day, Prise’s father, Brian, said his son has a great opportunity to take the next step in his career.
Brian Priske, who is currently Sparta Prague manager, said: “It’s great that he can take the next step. It was close this summer, and he’s just had an even better season now. It would be completely natural if it happens now.
“He really loves Djurgården, and he has some fantastic teammates and friends. And it’s not just for a short period. It’s for life, I’m sure.
“And at the same time, his sports manager Bosse Andersson has meant an incredible amount to August. If a great transfer is successful now, they – his teammates and Bosse – will be very proud of him, and they have been fantastic.”
On Monday, Tipsbladet brings the latest on Birmingham City’s ongoing pursuit of the Denmark U21 international.
Birmingham City agree transfer for August Priske

They report Chris Davies’ side and Djurgårdens IF have reached an agreement for Priske’s transfer, for DKK 52m [€7m]. He will travel to England today to negotiate personal terms with the Championship side and for other formalities.
This is, as expected, far from the fee Andersson has long desired. Regardless, there’s confidence the move will go through for €7m.
Tipsbladet’s claim is further backed up by Fotboll Direkt. According to them, the Swedish club have accepted Birmingham City’s bid for the Dane.
They have found out from their sources that the fee will rise to SEK 100m [€9.33m] with bonuses.
Priske also received interest from Galatasaray and Beşiktaş, but he only wanted to join Davies’ side this month.
With the two clubs now reaching an agreement, he has to agree personal terms and carry out medical tests to complete his move to Birmingham City.
Fotboll Direkt say this will be Djurgårdens IF’s second most expensive sale, after Bergvall. Therefore, they insist it’s a ‘historic deal’ for the Allsvenskan side.
