Moise Kean will be given another shot at Juventus as they try to ‘warm up the market’ and avoid paying Everton €28m for him.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who say the player will be given his chance to shine against Empoli this evening in an attempt to kick-start his season and hopefully the transfer market.
They explain that that striker has had plenty of opportunities to prove himself to Max Allegri so far, but the experience is not going as everyone had hoped since his return from Everton.
He is yet to score this season and has been the protagonist of several disappointing performances on the pitch to boot.
At 22 it is certainly not too late for him to prove himself, but time is running out and the opportunities are drying up.
This evening will see him given another against Empoli and it is one both the club and the player are hoping he can take.
Juventus made a ‘heavy bet’ to sign him back from Everton, spending €7m for a two-year loan that includes a conditional buy back clause set at €28m.
That agreement is a ‘binding’ one, so much so that when both Kean and Juventus tried to get out of it this summer, they enjoyed zero success.
In the end Kean remained at the club but is yet to get going this season and this clash with Empoli may be one of his last in which to prove himself.
There’s still a belief Juventus want to get rid of him but that binding contract with Everton is there and they need someone on the market to show an interest and give them an out.
For that to happen they find need Kean to show what he can do and ‘valorise such an investment’ that the clause can be triggered and paid to the Toffees.
