Everton are unlikely to face competition from Bayern Munich for Denzel Dumfries this summer unless there is a drastic change of plans at the Allianz Arena.

That’s according to BILD, who say the big price paid for Julian Nagelsmann and Dayot Upamecano mean Dumfries’ €16m price tag is too much for the German giants.

Reports had indicated they have already made contact about the PSV Eindhoven star, particularly after his impressive displays at the European Championships, which would have been a major problem for Everton’s pursuit of him.

However, according to BILD’s information, that interest has ‘cooled down considerably’, and that is because of Dumfries’ asking price.

PSV want at least €16m, but Bayern president Hebert Hainer has recently said there would be no more top transfers because of the difficult financial situation caused by COVID.

Similarly, with Upamecano arriving for €42.5m and Nagelsmann costing up to €25m, two costly transfers have already arrived at the club.

That could change as Nagelsmann would like to strengthen at right-back, but there will only be movement if the likes of Nikolas Sule, Corentin Tolisso and Bouna Sarr are sold.

It means Everton’s route is slightly more clear to the Netherlands star if they are as keen as the numerous reports suggest, although they may want to move quickly before Bayern raise the funds and change their mind.
