Newcastle United have identified Real Sociedad’s Luka Sučić as a new target at the request of Matthias Jaissle. 

Last week, Eddie Howe ended his stay at St James Park. The Magpies want to replace him with the Al-Ahli boss, and the parties have an agreement.

Newcastle United are yet to confirm Howe’s successor, but the German is already working on reshaping their squad.

On Monday, Sport Witness relayed news Jaissle was keen on signing Anis Hadj Moussa for Al-Ahli. He admires the Feyenoord player and now wants to sign him for the Premier League side.

Matthias Jaissle has identified the Croatia international as another target for the Tyneside club.

That’s according to Sportske Novosti, who claim the midfielder is the ‘big wish’ of the incoming Newcastle United manager.

Luka Sučić previously played under Jaissle at FC Liefering and Red Bull Salzburg, playing collectively 73 matches, of which 68 were with the latter.

Newcastle United working to please Jaissle 

The German wants to reunite with his former player at the English club and has asked his new bosses to sign him this summer.

Newcastle United want to please Matthias Jaissle and are already working on this transfer. Their aim is to find total agreement with both Luka Sučić and the La Liga side.

La Real signed the Croatian from the Austrian club for a reported fee of €10m in 2024. He’s made 68 appearances in two seasons and has a contract until 2029. Transfermarkt value him at €10m.

The player is an integral part of Real Sociedad’s plans and Sučić is also happy at the club. Therefore, Sportske Novosti have doubts of La Real letting him leave this summer.

Despite this, the outlet won’t rule out Newcastle United securing his services. This would only be possible if the Magpies were to convince him and the Spanish club.
