One of the many players released by Tottenham this summer when his contract ran out, Kallum Cesay has yet to find himself a new club.
The 21-year-old had made his way up the ranks at Spurs after initially moving up to the U18s back in 2019, but he never managed to find a spot in the first-team.
With his contract ending this summer, the right-back eventually ended up leaving Tottenham, but didn’t receive the offers he was wanting, with a new chance now on the horizon, as reported by Bild.
Despite already representing Sierra Leone four times, Cesay is still trying to convince someone to take a punt on him, and that could be Werder Bremen.
Bild have an article on the defender and his current trial with the Bundesliga side, which could be his next landing spot after his Tottenham exit.
That’s not a guarantee, of course, but the international break has given him the time to show them what he can do.
Bild state is was ‘a big surprise’ to see him on the training pitch, but head of first team football at Werder, Clemens Fritz, explained what happened.
He said: “We have known him for a long time. He was offered to us and the international break is now a good time for it. Kallum is a young player who enjoyed a very good education at Tottenham. The plan is initially for the player to train with us for the next few days, then we’ll see how it goes. A decision is not yet in sight. It can go either way.”
