At the start of this month, Foot Mercato stated Manchester United are ‘in the running’ to sign RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku.

On April 16th, we covered claims made by Bild that the Red Devils are ‘interested’ in the forward, but the Bundesliga side ‘do not want to let’ him leave in the summer.

Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick is reportedly a ‘big fan’ of the Frenchman, who has scored 30 goals and registered 20 assists from 47 matches this season.

With impressive statistics and fine displays, it is not a surprise that there are several clubs looking at the 24-year-old.

According to But! Football Club, Manchester United are one of the sides in the picture to sign the former Paris Saint-Germain man. Apart from the Premier League side, PSG and Juventus also have the player on their transfer agenda.

It’s claimed ‘big offers are expected in the coming weeks’ for the attacker, without making it clear who is expected to make those proposals. His camp hopes he continues with the Bundesliga side for one more season.

The report adds Nkunku’s asking price cannot be set at less than €100m, but the price could be different for 2023.

Leipzig, for their part, want to tie down the star to a new contract that will include a rise in salary and a release clause, even if the price for the clause has still not been established. The German club have started talks with Nkuknku’s entourage.

Manchester United are among the clubs looking at Nkunku and his addition in the summer could be a huge boost for their squad next season, although the summer after may be a likelier time for the deal to happen.
