Sevilla are one of the clubs in the picture to sign Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee in the winter market.

On October 24th, Orgullo Biri reported Sevilla and Real Betis have started informal talks and the two clubs could accelerate in November. Sevilla are keen on the Manchester United player and willing to make a ‘big effort’.

That’s according to Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, who report manager Matías Almeyda has asked for a new attacker in January.

It’s claimed the Netherlands international is the ‘chosen one’. Zirkzee has been limited to 90 minutes from five matches for Manchester United this season.

Due to his restricted role under Ruben Amorim, the forward is said to have asked to go out on loan in January.

The cost of the operation and competition from other clubs makes it complicated for the La Liga side. However, they ‘intend to make a financial effort’ to try and acquire the 24-year-old’s signature.

Manchester United need to beware of poor loan deal

Joshua Zirkzee
Joshua Zirkzee of Manchester United warms up prior to the UEFA Europa League 2024-25 match between Real Sociedad and Manchester United at Reale Arena on March 06, 2025 in San Sebastian, Spain.

Sevilla are willing to cover part of his salary and offer an important role in a top league. They believe a ‘solid and competitive offer’, regular minutes to Zirkzee and convincing Manchester United are key to the operation.

It’s worth noting that Sevilla are notorious for signing players on loan deals which are poor for the parent clubs. If those loans go poorly, the player will be dropped like a stone and if the player does amazingly well, it’d still be a fight to get a good.

Think along the lines of Antony with Real Betis, but likely worse.
