Celtic are active and trying to add new players to Martin O’Neill’s squad before the end of the winter market. Julián Araujo and Tomas Cvancara have already arrived at Celtic Park on loan from AFC Bournemouth and Borussia Mönchengladbach respectively.

O’Neill has publicly asked Celtic to make further signings before the window closes on Monday.

SK Brann’s Felix Horn Myhre has been identified as one of Celtic’s targets. Earlier this week, the Danish press covered their battle with Brøndby IF for his signature.

Tipsbladet reported Brøndby IF had submitted a DKK 22.5 [€3m] bid to the Norwegian side. Celtic haven’t made their own offer, but are still in the fight to secure the midfielder’s services.

Brann sporting director Per-Ove Ludvigsen has refused to comment on Celtic and Brøndby IF’ interest.

Tipsbladet journalist Farzam Abolhosseini had covered the earlier report. He’s now spoken to podcast Podium to report the latest on O’Neill’s side and Brøndby IF. 3point.dk have relayed his comments.

According to Abolhosseini, the Superliga side have already made an offer and negotiated personal terms with the 26-year-old.

“The terms for what he will receive in salary are in place, which will be very nice. A really good salary for the 26-year-old Norwegian national team player from Brann are in place,” he said.

Celtic can arrive and cause transfer trouble

Claims from elsewhere state Brann have rejected the bid. Brøndby IF will have to make an improved offer and also fight off competition from Celtic to sign the Norway international. The journalist believes O’Neill’s side could move.

“I just want to say Brøndby have taken the lead now, and are in place with his contract, and what they want to offer. Celtic are not that far along,” Abolhosseini explained.

“I cannot rule out that Celtic could overtake Brøndby. It is a big Scottish club.”

Celtic have to act fast if they wish to bring Myhre to Glasgow before Monday’s deadline.
