Chelsea continue to be named as one of the contenders for the signing of Rafael Leão from AC Milan.
This is something said today by outlet Calciomercato, who features another story explaining the complicated situation the player has been going through at the Serie A side.
Speaking of his potential departure next year, the website writes, via Sandro Sabatini, that Chelsea already offered €120m to land Leão in August, and the Blues are actually ‘still ready’ to sign him.
The Stamford Bridge side, however, aren’t alone in the race, as Manchester City are named as another club who are keen on taking the midfielder to the Premier League.
Chelsea’s offer for Leão in the summer had already been confirmed by Milan chief Paolo Maldini in an interview last month, but no amount was mentioned.
There, he claimed the bid was turned down, but couldn’t affirm that the player would be untransferable.
The midfielder’s situation at the Rossoneri is tense because of the lack of a contract renewal, and that’s something that could be used by the Blues as they make pressure for the signing.
