Earlier on Monday, we saw Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claiming Chelsea were keen on making an interesting bid for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.
With the Blues in ‘pole position’ for the signing, it was claimed they’d put on the table the renewal of Romelu Lukaku’s loan with the Nerazurri, plus the transfer of Kalidou Koulibaly.
That sounded like a reasonable offer, but not everyone in Italy believes in that. In fact, CalcioMercato.it bring a totally different report about Chelsea’s offer.
Journalist Gian Luca Rossi claims to have spoken to Onana’s communication manager Jordi Pascual, and heard that the Blues’ bid should be in cash.
“Let’s get ready, because we met Jordi Pascual who made us understand that within a week they bring a Chelsea offer of 60 million, I didn’t understand whether it was pounds or euros. If that is true, I can say that this was Onana’s last game.”
It still sounds a little crazy that someone from the player’s staff would go on the record regarding a potential big move, but that’s what is being said and taken seriously by the report.
Those would be two very different ways for Chelsea to try to secure Onana’s signing.
