Chelsea are yet to make a ‘serious move’ for Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko, despite reports to the contrary.
That’s according to Ruhr Nachrichten, who say the youngster is about to sign a new deal with the German side anyway.
The Blues have been linked with a move for Moukoko over the last few weeks, with his contract set to expire in the summer and him free to negotiate with clubs around Europe from January 1st.
The competition for his signature is fierce but it has been claimed that Chelsea would be willing to pay in January to get him ahead of the other sides who are keen on his signature.
It appears that may have been in vain, though, as Ruhr Nachrichten reports that there are ‘indications’ from the player and his camp that he will be staying where he is.
According to their information, the striker is about to reach a ‘basic agreement’ on extending his expiring contract, ignoring the interested parties who are ‘piling up’ for him.
One of those had reportedly been Chelsea but RN’s information is that they are yet to make a ‘serious move’ for the player.
It seems it would be pointless to do so anyway, with the basis of a contract extension in place, albeit not likely to be completed until the new year.
